Fundamentals of Follow-up: Minimizing Diagnostic Error and Improving Patient Safety
Follow-up is a specific and key aspect of healthcare communication. Physicians have a responsibility to follow-up with their patients and other healthcare providers to coordinate and maintain medically indicated care. Problems with follow-up may contribute to diagnostic and treatment delays leading to increased risk of error and subsequent malpractice claims. This course is designed to increase physicians’ competence and performance when following-up with patients and other healthcare providers to improve patient safety.
